The Food Lover here!
Welcome to the another episode of The Food Lover in Accra series……your one and only source into the scandalous four-day food love affair of four Accra vacationers…..Nana, Kwa-B, Koko (code names) and me!
Romance Scene: Lunchtime at Burger & Relish, Corner 14th Lane and Dadebu Street, Osu, Accra.
It was a case of intense hunger…..we had skipped breakfast because we wanted to cover a lot tour activities for the day……only good food could douse the tension our stomachs had built up.
What could be better than this? (Nana & Koko had wings, no photos because we feasted on them before I was stable enough to take pictures, yes the hunger was that serious.) Click here to catch a glimpse.
Technically, the romance starts here……
The Big Boss BurgerKwa-B had this and it was super good! I fell so in love at first sight, I wish I could just steal it from her and elope…..not to eat it all alone but to stare at it over and over again, somethings are too precious to be eaten.
Imagine one stack having two tasty tender beef patties, ample cheese, BACON (my new obsession), pickles, “smoked mayo”…… If you smoke your mayo, you deserve some accolades! That thing added a whole new depth of flavor to every bite. The cabbage slaw even had me more smitten, I loved how it balanced out the richness of the burger.
I’d usually do a drumroll intro on occasions like this but my palate is still excited about it weeks after so I shall do a *silent scream* then *audible scream*……Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you……Three Little Piggies! This was mine and all mine! It was the first time I’d order a burger as a meal in a restaurant and see to its end (apart from the tiny bites my dining partners had)……amazing feeling!
It was an excellent patty mix of beef and chorizo, BACON, BACON JAM (Who knows where I can find this in Lagos to buy?), crispy onions that tasted like love and of course cheese! I felt like getting married to this baby.
Warning: Prepare to not care about making a mess while you eat.
Drinks Drinks Drinks!Honestly, I was too overwhelmed to get the names of my dining partner drinks. But I had a Very Berry Nice Shake.
As the name suggests, it was nice…..rich and berry-licious! There’s a contrast in my milkshake love life by the way…..every time I indulge in them, I feel some sort of warmth within me. So figuratively speaking, it is a cold drink that makes me warm. *soft smile*
Just so I could keep that same energy of doing things for the first time, I ordered a Coke Float even though my stomach looked like it’d burst any minute. As for how it went down, I plead the fifth simply because I’m not a coke girl. (Hello Fanta Gang!)
