Sky nestles in Eko Hotel, alluring in every sense! The views, the decor and of course the food….a long-lasting impression was imprinted in my heart.
Elevator ride to the 11th floor…..I stepped out and my eyes captured this vibrant wall. Instantly, I knew happiness lived here.
My dining partner and I then walked into the restaurant, a vast space fashioned out in three layers. Topmost layer, a wine bar…..Middle layer, a round bar for every other drink you can think of….But, we wanted proper lunch so dining area it was….We had the option of picking our view, the city or the ocean….we went with the ocean (Eko Atlantic). After settling down, I began racking my head, Sky was beautiful but nothing had given up French or Asian culture. The menu had better hold Franco Asian cuisine or “disappointment” would be stamped on my forehead. My dining partner got the gist and decided to have the Chefs do us their specials of the day instead of using the menu…..
They came up with platters of sashimi, sushi and a beef dish.
I’m still not bold enough to eat uncooked seafood so sashimi was a NO for me but it came with a whole lot of icy pizzazz….yup, the shiny round thing you see in the picture is ice! My dining partner was delighted….
But yes, I indulged in the sushi platter. Honestly, I know no details of these rolls since we didn’t use a menu and I was too lazy to ask but they were very worthy of my chopsticks struggle.
Finally something French-like….dainty yet complex. Pretty chunk of beef wrapped in delicious greenery, black pepper jus, some yum purée I couldn’t put a name to, herbed potatoes and steamed veggies laid out like love on a plate! And the best part….the flavors of the beef and jus were definitely elevated, I’m guessing with “Asian” spices. Every bite was a beautiful reminder that life is too short not to marry food cultures!
Oooo I discovered Sky Restaurant on Dme.ng!
