Not all food loving experiences are created equal, some school you on how indulgence can be tuned up to the max just like my HSE Gourmet escapade!
My friend, H-Baby visited this fine restaurant one fine afternoon and sent these pictures…..Masala Baracuda CurryMac ‘n’ Cheese
Just as I was drooling over the pictures, she called to rub it in some more with explicit details of how good each meal tasted.
Thankfully, I was with the perfect dining partner……my cousin, Amaks who’s always ready for food adventures. We quickly got dressed and sprinted there.
DrinksAmaks had a pack of Apple Juice. I was very impressed with the quantity and serving style as a lot of places either serve you a volume that would make you wonder where the rest of the juice went or simply drop the pack on your table which is quite boring in my opinion. The pitcher use and lemon infusion made me realize we weren’t here for regular dining.
I had the Berry Cheesy Cloud Tea. Honestly, my mind was shaky when I ordered this because my head couldn’t process the taste but where’s the fun in not trying out new things? My open-mindedness was rewarded when it finally came, this baby was creamy, had hints of cheese and a sweet berry flavor that made me feel like it was summer in my tummy.
FoodAmaks had Grilled pork chops ‘n’ mac (prawn mac ‘n’ cheese). The pork chops were extremely tender and juicy, the picture doesn’t do justice. And the mac…..such a delight! Beautiful crust on the top, soft and lush on the inside with little bombs of prawns here and there.
I ordered Braised Short Ribs just because the menu states that it is usually cooked for 3hours……there’s no way anyone would put in that much energy in preparing a mediocre meal. The minute it arrived, I caught a whiff of the aroma and immediately put my knife to use by cutting into the ribs , you should have seen how easily it fell apart. At that moment, I concluded that it was Love on a plate. By the time I had a forkful of the buttery mash mixed with saucy succulent beef, my tastebuds were in taste paradise! And those tiny golden beauties on the top (crispy onion curls) added an extra layer of flavor and texture that made my body tingle.
BrunchMy lunch experience was so satisfying, I reported for brunch duty that same week. (Their brunch menu is available all day on weekends.)I had a Dutch Baby (German style pancakes). Usually, this baked baby should have dramatically puffed up edges so when mine arrived looking all modest, I panicked……”this had better taste good”, I heard my inner voice speak. I dived in for a piece and all was well again, it had the thick custardy crêpe feeling and crispy rim I was looking for! Served with light, airy scrambled eggs (omelette and sunny side up options available) and perfectly cooked sausages.
MilkshakeTo seal my love for HSE, I had a Dulce de Leche Milkshake…..lustrous is an understatement!
