Sunday evening…..chilled rooftop vibes…..conversation with my new friend Nicsy then she asks…..“So how long have you been blogging?”…..I stutter a bit and *BOOM* it hit me…..MY BLOG IS A YEAR OLD!
Luckily, I had this view to do a quick 5-minute reflection on my blogging journey and boy, was I a proud mum! I have non-stop committed to making and nurturing my baby for 12months. Started as a joke and now, whether in sickness, 8-5 job and school stress, emotional downtime or brokeness, the blog never suffers….
It was time to reward myself with a big bowl of delicious pasta and a drink or two! Ooo by the way, we were at Tilt Terrace, Lekki….they make beautiful grills on sundays and Nicsy was indulging in that.
It has been a challenging, satisfying and growing experience for me and some fellow food lovers have supported me all the way! You know I give the best code names but today you will get to know their real names…..
The Ghanaian Princess: I love this girl. It’s a shame we don’t live in the same country but the amount of content and inspiration I get from her is unquantifiable! My one & only Food spy in Ghana. Thank you Emefa for being a wonderful friend.
SLY26: I don’t exactly like the term “best friend” but I think that’s what this guy is to me. Also my number 1 critic! My proofreader, editor, “which picture is finer?” person, boy trouble adviser…..I hate you as much as I love you big head. Thank you Somto for your tough love.
Amaks: My cousin who has turned out to be my sister and friend at the same time. You should hear the pride in her voice when she introduces me as a “food blogger”. I can’t wait to grow old with you and gist our kids about our eat-it-all days. She not only gives me content but also bullies her friends to take pictures for me. Thank you Amaka for being an excellent sister.
H-Baby: My food exploring partner. This one is a silent food enthusiast, you think she just likes food on the surface but she somehow gets us to go the best restaurants and food related events. Thank you Hadiza for all the love and support (she borrows me her kitchen sometimes *wink*).
F-Baby: This girl right here introduced me to the noodles & baked beans lifestyle in uni….that’s when I should have realized her love was food is mighty! There’s hardly a week that goes by without her sending me beautiful content. She also never forgets to let me know she thinks I am doing a good job. Thank you Fatima for being the best amateur food photographer friend ever!
Queen Z: Does this picture make you understand why I call her “Queen”! Definitely more than a contributor because I am in love with her son….one look at him and I felt like having my own baby for the first time ever….a special moment, I tell you. She is a force to reckon with in content creation for TheFoodLover. From fine dining experiences to home-cooked meals, baby got me. Thank you Sophie for being so warm-hearted and giving birth to Angel-face.
FQ: Funny story, I have only seen him once but we are snapchat buddies and he is so big-hearted….forever willing to send me every picture and detail of his food adventures….a true lover of food! Thank you Farouq for being amazing. (The rebel: I asked for a back portrait & he sends me this cool kid pose.)
Babie: I doubt this baby sits down properly at the restaurant before she thinks about taking pictures for me. Also my partner for datenight concierging….working with her is so much fun and our little food breaks make it even more fun. Thank you Ihuoma aka Njay for being a true friend/partner.
There are so many people to thank but this post might be too long so let’s stop with Nicsy for being inquisitive enough to help me realize my baby’s age….
Did I mention that she is from one of dream places…Cape Town! Another huge food lover, fabulous too….I stalk her status updates just to admire cloths on her body. Thank you Nicola for being a new but exceptional friend.
Oooo did I forget myself…nope…Thank you Ify for being the best food lover!
Nicsy and I couldn’t resist taking pictures by the famous Tilt Terrace flower pots. Ended my night with a big fat hug from their Buddha….
I just might have to make another post to thank my other contributors, tasters and readers but you all know I love you right back, right?
Sooo I am on blog-break for now, the brain needs some time to get refreshed but no, I won’t leave you hanging so next week, we will be reading from a guest writer….watch out!

20-year-old), Anna Popplewell (a newly minted Oxford freshman), Skandar Keynes (with vocal
octaves greater when he was 15), and Georgie Henley (approaching teenhood, a fantastic six inches taller than we
last saw her). The plastic’s name is usually abbreviated to CR-39, standing for Columbia Resin, and it is less than 50 % the weight of glass,
which supplanted quartz inside early twentieth century.
